Those girlfriends weren't that much of a depressant for my amigos. They were actually pretty chipper for the most part. Just. Odd sudden moments of solemnity which I found Retarded.
Today was a truly bizarre day as far as the weather and seasons are concerned. This morning a bird flew into the library and was chirping away with the sunny sunrise. Then we had overcast and suddenly snow flurries. Now once more it is blue skies.
This might sound incredibly stupid of me, but I just found out that Mark and Luke weren't apostles.
I've also been thinking of the name Levi for a boy. You know. Down the road.
If worked as hard I worked from 7-4 today, everyday. Imagine where I would be.
Essay #2 for 307 is finished and submitted. It turned out pretty well for the shambles it was in this morning. and I think I am actually developing a nice relationship with the professor.
I got Joe Day's cd on that "sound exchange" or...sound trade...or...noisetrade? that might be it. yesterday. I did not donate anything...I am too poor. But there is this cool song that we've done at church a couple times, "The Glory of God" on it. Perrrrridy sweet. Turns out he's the worship director at Mars Hill in Seattle. What a coincidence.
I was reading in Matthew today, and I came across that "speck in your friends eye, log in yours" passage. and I laughed out loud. I mean. I read it and I laughed. I don't think it's inappropriate to read it almost as...well obviously it's a bit of a hyperbolic metaphor. and. You know what. It was kind of hilarious to me today. Just because it was.
I think I'm going to start spending time everyday in a Gospel too. I mean. My savior speaks there! Look at those red letters. All that good news, unveiled, right there in front of my face.
Chris Bianco, the director of bands up here, emailed me back and said I should just stop by his office and we'll have a chat. I looked him up and found out he's a trumpet player. Great. I am going to look that much more inferior now. You know what. I flipping hate that. It seems like a disproportionate number of band directors are trumpet players. I've got to spend some time becoming awesome again this summer.
My diet today has been pretty much just Ritz and cheese sticks. I spent my first 8 hours at the library and I brought them as a snack, then I came home and they were just so readily available. I couldn't help it.
I'm very relieved to have that essay off of my back but there is still plenty of stuff I should probably hang up this computer for now.
Currently Listening: Joe Day: Grace, Polyphony (Eric Whitacre): Cloudburst
